If you’ve got questions, these answers may help. If not, send me a note.
Q: Do you do prints of your pieces?
A: No, not at the moment (or foreseeable future). I hope to be able to offer this in the future, but in the meantime, get ‘em while they’re hot. Hey, they’re original.
Q: Okay…. So, no run of prints (yet), then why sell the originals?
A: All I want is for people to be moved by my work - in whatever form that takes. I still have the artist mark and digital files to prove it.
Q: What about licensing a digital image of the work?
A: I’m open to this, but it must be for: (1) a cause or non-profit I believe in, and can verify - or - (2) full attribution with rights in an explicitly (written) agreed upon use and duration - or- (3) negotiated usage fee with all appropriate considerations for alteration, adaptation, and other commercial application.
Q: All your work listed is “unframed”, what’s the deal?
A: I find that frames are often a personal experience. Every home, office, or wherever you hang art has its own aesthetic. Therefore, I offer my pieces “in the raw” - that way you can fit the frame for the piece and your chosen place to display. If you would like a framed piece, please send a note and we can work that out. Go to the Hit Me Up page to make that request.
Q: How do you calculate the measurements for your art?
A:: All measurements are based on how I cropped the paper. Whatever is listed is the actual size of the physical work (rounded to the nearest 1/4” for simplicity). I include white-space in the measurement. Because each piece is cropped to what I feel is appropriate, this usually results in non-traditional sizes, from a framing perspective.
Q: How will my piece be shipped?
A: Generally speaking, it will be USPS via a priority mailer. I will pack each piece with suitable protective material, and provide tracking info once the piece has been sent out. Shipping will be handled within seven (7) business days, but that’s on the long end of things.
Q: What if the art is damaged during shipments?
A: In the unlikely event that a shipment is damaged, please email me at snarkyminotaur.art@gmail.com to initiate a return. Please include photos of the packaging and damaged work. You will be refunded the full cost of the piece upon returning the work to me.
Q: Do you offer refunds if I decide I don’t want the piece?
A: Sorry, no can do (unless damaged in shipping). Please be completely certain that you want to purchase the piece before checking out.
Q: I see “ghost lines” and occasionally “color swatches” in the margin of art pieces - what’s the deal?
A: I’mma let you in on a secret - lots of us sketch first, and ink later. My opinion is that whatever is left after erasing, or tested during the process is part of the work. Mostly, I crop it out on the finished piece, but if it’s there, so be it. It adds to the truly unique nature of each piece.
Q: Do you take consignment work?
A: Not really. My interpretation of subject matter is a pretty visceral reaction, and not always planned out. So, not very conducive to consignment work. But, if you have something specific in mind, and some reference material, I’m open to the idea. Please email me at snarkyminotaur.art@gmail.com to start that conversation.
Q: I saw some of your Inktober work, can I buy one?
A: These are not offered on my site at the moment, but if you email me at snarkyminotaur.art@gmail.com we can discuss.
Q: Why don’t you work in larger sizes?
A: Really, that’s what you’re worried about?
Q: But, Snark… my question isn’t covered here!
A: Sorry - it must not have been asked frequently enough. Shoot me a note at snarkyminotaur.art@gmail.com so that I can get back to you.
